Sony announces PlayStation Now stream service
As part of your conference at CES 2014, Andrew House, president of Sony Computer Entertainment announced PlayStation Now, a streaming service that allow you to run games PlayStation Seller on various devices, from consoles like PS4-company, PS3 and Vita-up tablets and TVs. In short, it is the expected solution to the lack of backward compatibility afflicting the PlayStation 4. Although not talked about it, we suspect that the technology behind PlayStation Now borne by Gaikai, Sony company bought last summer by almost $ 400 MDD.
Closed Beta service will start later this month in the United States, so PlayStation Now formally begin operations in mid-year. No price was discussed specifically, but it will work on PlayStation Now subscription plans and allow income games.
“The bonds that have limited use for decades soon dissolve.” Said the director of Sony, Kaz Hirai.
To put things in a simple way, which is to enjoy PlayStation Now allow any play on virtually any device, including smartphones, because heavy processing tasks will be performed remotely in the cloud, and the device will only play video. An example of this is that The Last of Us , Beyond: Two Souls and God of War: Ascension are available to be played on PS Vita and Bravia TVs in the floor of CES 2014 exhibition.
This opens a wide range of possibilities, but input, that comes to mind was a recent article suggesting that Sony was exploring the option of adding new content to older titles.
Needless to say, such a service depends entirely on the Internet and even more bandwidth, so that will have to wait to see how it will work outside the United States.
